Today (8th April 2014) cyclist-friendly accommodation website Beds for Cyclists celebrates its 1,000th accommodation host with the launch of a competition to win a holiday in the North Yorkshire Moors.
Sam Howard, Beds for Cyclists founder, said, “I'm thrilled to hit this 1,000 hosts milestone. The site now boasts more choice than ever for people travelling with or by bike, across the UK. Offering two people a self-catering break in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors is the perfect way to celebrate.”
Competition details
- A weekend for two in The Limes self-catering cottage, Pickering, North Yorkshire Moors
- Two complimentary tickets for a scenic ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
- Visit the vast moorlands of the North Yorkshire Moors, Dalby Forest mountain bike trails and the spectacular North Yorkshire coastline.
Beds for Cyclists launched in 2012. The user-friendly site helps riders find cycle-friendly accommodation with facilities including bike lock ups, drying rooms and welcoming hosts.
The site has now put 1,000 cycle-friendly accommodation providers on the map from Cornwall to Caithness. There is a wide range of accommodation from camp and glamping sites, B&Bs, hostels to luxury hotels. All hosts are mapped against the Sustrans National Cycle Network and major long-distance cycle routes. The website has quickly become a comprehensive accommodation resource for cyclists.
