New York (February 27, 2017) – Macao Government Tourism Office partnered with Beautiful Destinations, the creative agency behind the largest travel and lifestyle community on social media, to capture the rich heritage and culture of Macao, China. The Beautiful Destinations creative team traveled to the burgeoning Asia Pacific city to create “social first” content and help the Tourism Office tell their story to a global, millennial audience. As tourism to Macao continues to rise with more than 40 million international visitors last year, Beautiful Destinations mission was to communicate a new story about Macao to its 13.5 million followers in 180 countries.
“Macao has gained a reputation for its entertainment, but from the Ruins of St. Paul's to the Old Taipa Village, there is so much more to explore that we want to share with our global audience,” said Jeremy Jauncey, CEO and Founder, Beautiful Destinations. “Our followers will also get a glimpse of Macao's hotels, an important driver for tourism, in addition to the destination's historical, sporting and cultural experiences.”
Beautiful Destinations launched a photo series on Instagram culminating in a three-minute video on the agency's Facebook and YouTube showcasing the Macao Grand Prix, neighborhoods, and attractions that have earned the destination UNESCO World Heritage status. In true Beautiful Destinations style, the team bungee jumped off the top of Macao Tower, the highest commercial bungee jump in the world, capturing video throughout the earth-shattering drop. The Macao Government Tourism Office will incorporate assets from the shoot throughout their 2017 campaigns.
“We're thrilled to partner with the Beautiful Destinations to visually share Macao's rich history and culture, a side of the Special Administration Region that's sometimes overlooked,” said Carman Chan, Marketing Manager of the Macao Government Tourism Office, USA. "We welcome Beautiful Destinations' audiences to virtually experience Macao then explore the unique locale in person."
Stories from the trip will be shared by Beautiful Destinations Founder and CEO, @jeremyjauncey; Co-Founder and celebrated drone pioneer, @tomjauncey; Director of Content and London's top Instagram travel photographer, @jacob; the team's newest videographer, @nainoalanger; and the Macao Government Tourism Office, USA, @MacaoUSA. Followers are encouraged to subscribe to Beautiful Destinations' new YouTube channel to see the full Macao film when it goes live.
