Smokers and non smokers alike agree the benefits of giving up smoking outweigh smoking but it is often hard give up this addiction without help.

Roundelwood health & lifestyle spa located at Crieff, amongst Perthshire�s beautiful rolling hills, clean air and countryside offers 5 day stop smoking packages and has been operating them successfully for 30 years. The programme priced at �815 per person is designed to break the habit over a five day period. It enables participants to detox the body of nicotine and offers daily counselling, a personal exercise programme including gym and pool work along with regular walks, 10 hours of appropriate health treatments and full board accommodation in a double for sole occupancy room.

What the team at Roundelwood has found is that the success of the stop smoking course is down to a number of factors � these include the support, encouragement and expertise from a team of trained professionals (nutritionists, personal gym instructors, registered nurses and physiotherapists) to work with the individual in those first difficult days of stopping smoking and give them the confidence they need to quit long term.

They can assist by discussing the health implications of smoking and the effects it has on nutrition and loss of appetite through to detoxing, exercising and breathing techniques to use during and after the course has concluded.

From 0600 on 1 July 2007 England will introduce a smoking ban and become a smoke free environment with smoking banned in all enclosed public places and workplaces. This legislation brings England with the rest of the UK and Ireland. Scotland has been successfully smoke free since 26 March 2006, Irish Republic since 24 March 2004 and Wales since 2 April 2007.
