As summer temperatures continue to climb, One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico (www.oneandonlyresorts.com) recently introduced two new cooling spa treatments to provide much-needed relief from heat and sun exposure. Inspired by ancient Aztec rituals, the new Sun-Calming Treatment and One&Only Sun Ritual combine ancient philosophies and indigenous ingredients with a modern ESPA experience.

Tonalli Paleuia (90 minutes)

The �Tonalli Paleuia� or Sun-Calming Treatment is a perfect remedy to soothe and cool the body from sun exposure. Beginning with a refreshing herbal foot ritual, the treatment progresses to a full body cooling wrap of natural ingredients, including locally-harvested aloe vera, together with pink clay, chamomile and deeply-hydrating wild yam. Chilled Aztec obsidian stones and rose quartz are used with specific massage techniques on the face and scalp. A soothing and moisturising massage application completes this authentic experience leaving skin nourished and revived.

One&Only Sun Ritual (120 minutes)

The One&Only Sun Ritual is a treatment to relax the mind and body and prepare the skin for a sun-kissed glow, or alternatively to nourish and cool a sun-bronzed body. Wonderfully exfoliating sea salts are combined with incredibly nourishing essential oils to stimulate circulation and soften the skin in preparation for a full body massage with a synergy of intensely moisturising aromatic oil and deeply nourishing body cream rich in replenishing wild yam and flower algae.

The new cooling treatments, join an innovative list of programming celebrating the ancient philosophies and techniques of Mexico including a new series of complimentary Musical Therapy group sessions with renowned musician Antonio Zepeda using Pre-Columbian instruments such as ocarinas and conch shells to teach guests how to harness the spiritual and physical benefits of sound. Additional treatments include the Aztec Aromatic Ritual that features an ancient village recipe of aromatic spices to relieve headaches, arthritis and muscular aches to the ESPA Holistic Obsidian Stone Experience using traditional black Mexican obsidian stones to relieve depression and restore healing energy.

The One&Only Spa spans more than 22,000-square-feet and serves as a focal point of the One&Only Palmilla experience with stunning natural vistas of the Baja landscape.
