There will also be a special Autumn Danube Trilogy, 14th – 23rd October, inspired by the Austro-Hungarian Empire's most popular musical theatre genre, the “operetta”, a genre frequently performed in two major cities connected by the Danube – Vienna and Budapest. Celebrating the masterpieces of Strauss, Kálmán and Lehár, Ravenna's Alighieri Theatre will host performances of Countess Maritza, The Fledermaus and The Merry Widows.
