BBC Gardeners World People's Choice award winner Jamie Langlands is creating a brand new show garden for the Blenheim Palace Flower Show which runs from Friday, June 21st – Sunday, June 23rd.

Jamie's garden, 'Re:Claim', is one of only three made available for this year's event, which is being officially opened by TV presenter and architect George Clarke.

He will be joined by Oxfordshire-based Gaiaveda Gardens, who are creating a garden sanctuary for the show and Hadean-Creation, who are based in Carlisle.

“My design for the Blenheim Palace Flower Show blurs the lines between interior and exterior design. The garden includes a relaxed seating area, a bar, scaffold shelving and a fire pit made from an old washing machine drum.

“There's a raised bed, constructed from reclaimed timbers and, filled with ornamental/edible plants combining horticultural drama, function and form.

“It's the perfect area to introduce children to the exciting world of 'grow your own' or experiment with new and exotic fruit and veg,” he added.

Gaiaveda Gardens' are creating a garden sanctuary to regenerate the health of women, wildlife and the soil itself.

Using the movement of the sun, throughout the day and year, the garden will be a 'healing space' for visitors to potter about in.

Hadean-Creation are designing garden centred around a tranquil pavilion set above a mirror pond approached by a formal slate path, reflecting the design principles of Germany's revolutionary Bauhaus School of Architecture. The creative use of planting softens the interlocking planes of the structure enabling framed views and a play of light and shadows over the day.

“Show gardens are regularly identified in visitor feedback as the 'must see' on their list when visiting any show,” said Show Manager Mig Kimpton.

“They are an exciting opportunity to inspire our visitors, demonstrate horticultural skills, design and constructional excellence,” he added.

Visitors can also enjoy Garden Talks with experts and enthusiasts, fabulous food and drink as well as an outdoor Plant Village and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Now in its seventh year the horticultural show houses over 300 exhibitors located around a Grand Floral Pavilion, which is situated on the South Lawn of the picturesque Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
