Angels Camp, CA (September 23, 2014) – A barrel full of wine bottles will be the grand prize to the winner of the 2nd Annual Wine Barrel Open, November 6, 2014, at Greenhorn Creek Resort in Angels Camp.
The competition will be fierce but in the end, the winning team will be popping corks out of 36 bottles of locally produced wine, including award-winning Zins, Barberas, Syrahs and other varietals donated by Calaveras County wineries, all Vintner Members of Greenhorn Creek Resort. Additional prizes include golf, lodging in The Caddy Shack and a vacation for four at Greenhorn Creek Resort.
“Outdoor activities, wine and excellent food are integral components to the lifestyle at Greenhorn Creek and this event combines the best of all three,” said Mike Kristoff, General Manager.
With a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. redesigned championship golf course, outstanding cuisine at CAMPS Restaurant, superb lodging and minutes from 32 wineries, Greenhorn Creek is the premier resort in the Calaveras County wine country.
The event, open to the public at a fee of $150, includes: golf; welcome gifts, wine tasting reception hosted by the Vintner Members, plus a five-course dinner prepared by CAMPS. Non-golf playing guests are welcome to attend the reception and dinner for $60. Lodging packages are available.
100% of the proceeds from the raffle of prizes will be donated to Mind Matters, a treatment center for individuals and families affected by ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities, located in Murphys, CA.
