Created in Barcelona, collaborative consumption start-up Trip4real was launched by founder Gloria Molins in 2013 with a team of four, and quickly become a huge success in Spain, with social travellers and budding micro-entrepreneurs quickly adopting the online platform as a new way to experience a city, and a new way to create activities and a source of income. The new social traveller wants a tailored experience, a chance to see a city through a local's eyes rather than a generic tour. Trip4real provides that, with over 2,500 “locals” currently offering truly authentic experiences to share with visitors to their home town or city. If Airbnb can make anyone a hotelier, Trip4real can make anyone an expert tour guide.
