The Barbados Tourism Authority has dedicated 2009 as The Year of the Gourmet to promote the world class culinary and restaurant scene in Barbados recently showcased at the third �Taste of Barbados� food festival, held annually in October. To celebrate, the BTA Stand at World Travel Market, CA 3000, will be hosting food and rum cocktail making demonstrations.

On Monday 10th November, Barbados Year of the Gourmet will be launched at the Minister�s Champagne Reception at 12.30 p.m. with Bajan food cookery demonstrations taking place daily with Bajan Chef, Michael Harrison, followed by rum cocktail presentations from Papa Jules from Mahiki London. Timings: Daily Bajan cookery demonstrations: 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
