Award-Winning Luxury Resort Calabash Grenada Announces Extensive 2015 Upgrade Project

Calabash Grenada Hotel and Spa

Calabash Grenada will close during August and September to extensively upgrade the resort. The project will bring the standards at the award-winning five-star resort to an increased level of luxury and improve its facilities dramatically.

The all-suite resort, which also features five top end villas, attracts high-end travellers due to its reputation for combining five-star service and luxury within a relaxed and intimate environment.

Calabash Grenada will close from July 19 to October 3 2015 in order to renovate several areas around the 27-acre property, including upgrading its Junior Suite and One Bedroom Superior Suite categories with stylish new Italian furniture and refurbished bathrooms.

In addition, the resort's management team announces the construction of the much-anticipated Wellness Centre housing a multi treatment room spa, fitness suite, yoga pavilion, juice bar, Zen garden and relaxation pool.

“We have been investing in the resort for the past 20 years, but this year we are creating something really special. Standards all over the world are extremely high and we want to ensure Calabash remains at the forefront, standing with the best in the world,” states resort Director and one of the family owners, Adele Garbutt.

Calabash has always considered the environment in all decision-making processes, and this upgrade project is no exception, with energy efficiency and water conservation being a major priority. Throughout the property energy efficient air conditioning units will continue to be fitted and there are plans to complete the resort's existing solar power project. In addition the resort will upgrade its freezer system and water treatment facilities in order to recycle water in the gardens.  “Visitors come to Grenada because of its pure and beautiful surroundings, so it is our duty to constantly find ways to reduce our impact on the environment and to preserve our island's natural beauty,” commented Adele.

The upgrade project is due to be complete by Oct 3 2015. At Calabash (www.calabashhotel.com) two people sharing seven nights in a Junior Suite with breakfast served on their patio/balcony by their personal maid costs from £1534 (£2776 with flights).  Book in the UK through Essential Detail 020 8614 0077.
