Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire have partnered with Summerdown Mint to create a bespoke day spa retreat using the latest products from the brand's body collection.  The 'Awakening Summerdown Ritual' reflects the natural synergy between both Hotel and Farm and will be available to experience throughout the Summer.

It has taken 20 years to establish Black Mitcham Peppermint at Sir Michael Colman's Summerdown Farm in Hampshire. The single estate peppermint oil has a unique depth of character that is now one of the finest in the world.

On being introduced to the range, Senior Spa Director, Maria Herrera immediately recognised Summerdown's potential and asked for a massage oil to be added.   Leading perfumer Ruth Mastenbroek was given the brief of creating the fragrance that is worthy of the unique quality of Summerdown's Oils   “Exhilarating lemongrass and galbanum enhance the fabulous peppermint oil in a homage to the Hampshire countryside” she says.

The invigorating 90 minute therapy commences with a gentle foot ritual to welcome the guest and ground the body.  The guest is then invited to the treatment bed where a series of stretching and opening movements are applied and the warm Summerdown massage oil is poured onto the back to signal the start of the massage. Once the back massage is complete, a warm compress is gently placed along the spinal cord whilst the legs and feet are massaged.  Moved onto their back, the arms and chest are then massaged, whilst a warm compress is applied to the abdominal area. This is followed by an oriental scalp massage performed using Summerdown conditioner.  To conclude, the guest is awakened by a facial massage incorporating a combination of both warm and cold stones to aid sinus pressure, ideal for the Hay Fever season. The therapy is completed with the offer of a refreshing cup of Summerdown Mint tea.
