Treasure Trails

Take on a Treasure Hunt, crack the code on a Spy Mission or become a detective and discover whodunit on a Mystery Trail this August bank holiday weekend (Saturday 24th – Monday 26th August). With over 1,200 self-guided family adventures across the UK there'll be no shortage of ways to entertain budding buccaneers and retired Miss Marple's over the three-day weekend.

Follow a self-guided Treasure Trail through the winding backstreets and hidden corners of villages, towns and cities around the country. Crack the clues along the route to unlock incredible stories from the past and solve the mystery at the end.

Lasting around two hours, the aim is to solve clues on a circular route of approximately two miles incorporating plaques, signs, statues, monuments, images, engravings or any other unique or quirky features found in the area.

They can be downloaded direct from the Treasure Trails website and printed immediately or sent in the post. There's a, rarely-used, SMS 'Stuck on a Clue' helpline to ensure no Trail ever goes unsolved and there's also a chance to win £100 if you enter the answer to your Trail online where you can also download free certificates. Around 85% of the Trails are walking versions but there are also Cycling and Driving Trails available.

Newly released Treasure Trails across the country will captivate even the busiest imaginations. These Trails are giving youngsters the chance to follow spy a mission around Falmouth's historic harbour, defeat an evil witch set on forecasting rain on Manchester's city centre forever more and even helping the Bloomsbury Brainy Bunch on a time-travel mission in The Knowledge Quarter of London.
