Kempinski Suzhou Cuisine Festival from November 4 to 12 Beijing, September 2010; Nestled between Taihu Lake and the lower reaches of the Yangtze, Suzhou is an ancient water city, famed for its UNESCO World Heritage gardens, graceful canals, silk embroidery, and delectable cuisine.
This November, Kempinski Hotel Beijing celebrates this "paradise on Earth" by inviting one of the region's top chefs Mr Xu Guoxiong, Executive sous Chef of Kempinski Suzhou to present a festival of Suzhou cuisine at Dragon Palace restaurant. Born in Suzhou, Mr Xu has almost 20 years experience in cullinary field, and used to study with Mr Wu Yonggen and Qu Jinggen, who are very famous Chinese Cuisine Masters. Mr Xu is proficient in creating innovative dishes of Suzhou & Hangzhou Cuisine and he had been awarded the Honarary Member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
Following hundreds of years of culinary experimentation, Suzhou boasts one of China's most delectable cuisines, with an emphasis on top quality ingredients, light, sweet flavors and artful preparation. At Kempinski's Suzhou Festival, guests can sample a mouth-watering range of authentic dishes, like Sweet Lotus Roots, Braised Pork Ball with Crab meat, Fish Ball with Shrimps in Soup, Spicy King Prawns with Minced Pork and Fermented Grains and more.
