Austria. Distil Its Essence in the Tempting Tirol.

Austria Tourism

While Austria is a small country, we Austrians have managed to squeeze an impressive abundance of imperial sights, outdoor activities, alpine landscapes, history, tastebud-tingling cuisines, ski resorts and festivals into our modest borders. If you feel that's already too many topics to write about, however, then downsize your wanderings and stay in the alpine region of Tirol.

Tirol distils all these pleasures into an even more compact and easily travelled region in western Austria. Here imperial past meets groomed ski slopes, and you'll find yodellers, summer hikers, mountain meadows, cream-dolloped strudels, portraits of whiskery emperors and chic shopping. In December, Christmas markets are aglow with lights and scented with cinnamon.

These are the expected joys of Austria, but Tirol will keep your copy original and interesting if you know where to look. Read on to discover where to find a golden roof, a crystal cloud, free jazz concerts, cutting-edge architecture, elderflower champagne, bell makers, a restaurant in the sky, and the world's longest suspension bridge.

If you've been to Austria before, Tirol provides new experiences and new angles to excite your readership. And if you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?
