Australia's most cherished grand hotel, The Hotel Windsor has received its 7000th review on TripAdvisor, making it the most reviewed hotel in Melbourne and providing another landmark moment for the historic, 134-year-old establishment.
The Hotel Windsor is modest in size in comparison to its neighbouring competitors with only 180 guest rooms and suites, and yet has generated many more reviews, which is testament to the hotel's commitment to service, putting the guest front and centre of every activity that the Hotel undertakes.
“The age of transparency has been a breath of fresh air for The Windsor which has a proud history of delivering exemplary services over the past 134 years, always keen to engage with guests and seeking to improve in all that we do'.
“The worst thing we could do would be to suggest only to guests who had words of praise on departure, to perhaps share their views on TripAdvisor”, says David Perry, The Hotel Windsor CEO. “Unless you seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth your business can never achieve its potential”.
Perry finds himself replying to reviews on TripAdvisor from 5am most mornings as many are published overnight.
“Last month we received 184 reviews and we certainly made sure that we acknowledged the 7000th”

Following all guests' visits, The Hotel Windsor concierge send out links to promote TripAdvisor reviews, with many visitors claiming their first port of call before making a reservation is customer review sites, reaffirming it as key to the business.
The Hotel Windsor's success extends to its famous afternoon tea service, which ranks number one for 'Coffee & Tea' venues in Melbourne; an accolade the team is incredibly proud of.
CEO David Perry would welcome calls to discuss the culture behind this achievement:
