Celebrate historic Australia Day on a special four night Murray Princess Australia Day cruise and enjoy Australia Day festivities while discovering the real history of the outback. The four night cruise departs Monday 25th January, 2016.

The Australia Day cruise features the popular four night itinerary combined with Australia Day fun and special guest, 'knock about' Australian, authentic livestock Auctioneer, International Quiz Master and Crime/Action Novelist,Tom Penna.

Tom, who has self-published six books of short stories and poems about rural life in Australia, two colour-in books and a CD will entertain guests with his amazing Australian stories and bush poems, put his Quiz Master skills to the test with some Aussie Quizzes and Aussie bingo and even sell and sign his books.

Australia Day will kick off with an Australia Day breakfast before visiting the sacred Aboriginal site of Nguat Nguat Conservation Park for a guided tour. Throughout the day guests can take part in Australia Day games including Two Up and thong throwing followed by a visit to a typical Australian Woolshed for some whip cracking, sheep shearing and sheep races. That night celebrate Australia Day with a traditional Australian BBQ on the banks of the river where guests can kick up their heels with some bush dancing.

Throughout the cruise guests will also visit historic ports like Swan Reach, enjoy guided nature walks, speedboat tours and a vineyard tour and wine tastings at Burk Salter Winery.

Bird watchers will love the abundance of Australian birds along the Murray River including Swans, Swamp Hens and Wood Ducks and their young. Plant life is also thriving with Lignum bushes flowering and rushes and reeds getting a vibrant green colour to them.

On-board guests can just sit back in one of two air-conditioned paddlewheel lounges and enjoy the amazing views as the Murray Princess cruises past towering limestone cliffs, through picturesque gorges and along riverbanks lined with mallee scrub and red gum forests. They can even watch the working paddle wheel througha spectacular two-story glass window in the Paddlewheel Lounge.
