Aussie Adventure Pass to Gold Coast attractions

Gold Coast Tourism Bureau

Through the Aussie Adventure Pass ,visitors will be treated to the wonderful touch, feel, tastes, sounds and sights of Australia - up close and personal - at each of these three renowned attractions.

Everybody loves the taste of juicy fresh-picked tropical fruit, succulent freshly-caught mudcrab and a real Australian outback adventure and thats exactly what the Aussie Adventure Pass gives international visitors, said product spokesman, Phil Kennedy.

It offers three entertaining, educational and most of all fun Aussie experiences in one great value-for-money tour. We think visitors will love it!

The launch of the Aussie Adventure Pass comes after Tropical Fruit World, Catch A Crab and Paradise Country were invited by the Australian Tourist Commission to showcase their products at the recent Australian Touch and Feel Experience consumer promotion in Hong Kong.

Tens of thousands of Hong Kong residents flocked to the promotion at the New Town shopping mall where the three Gold Coast touch and feel attractions were the stars of the show.

Mr Kennedy said the huge interest generated by the show had highlighted the popularity of touch and feel experiences with international visitors to Australia and Tropical Fruit World, Catch A Crab and Paradise Country had decided to join forces in a co-operative marketing effort to launch the Aussie Adventure Pass.

"All three attractions offer very different Australian touch and feel experiences which international visitors are really looking for," said Mr Kennedy.

"We thought it would be excellent if visitors could experience a little bit of each attraction so they could get a broad-brush appreciation of Australia's unique culture.

"By combining the three attractions into a comprehensive yet leisurely day-tour, we think we have achieved that."

The Aussie Adventure Pass tour starts at 10am at Tropical Fruit World, a plantation paradise located in the magnificent Tweed Valley.

Perched on the rim of the largest extinct volcano in the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Fruit World is a working farm and tourist attraction in one, boasting the world's largest range of tropical and rare fruit and Australian 'bush foods' - more than 500 varieties in all!

At Tropical Fruit World, Aussie Adventure Pass guests board the tractor train for a unique tour right through the heart of the massive orchard, brimming with tens of thousands of trees growing fruit of all shapes, sizes and tastes from all over the world.

Guests also enjoy a miniature steam train ride around the lagoon-fringed Treasure Island, and finish with a delicious 'fruit fantasy' ice cream - blended with a choice of fruit plucked fresh from the plantation!

From Tropical Fruit World, guests travel to the next adventure, Catch A Crab, located on the picturesque Tweed River on the southern Gold Coast.

Multi-award winning Catch A Crab is one of the regions highlights for visitors, combining the natural scenic beauty of the Tweed River with Aussie style family fun.

From the moment visitors step on board they can participate in a range of activities; feeding sea birds, yabbie-pumping, fishing, trapping for crabs or simply sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Mr Kennedy said the Aussie Adventure Pass tour was expected to prove extremely popular with inbound tour operators, especially those whose clients have only limited time to spend on the Gold Coast.

There has been strong demand from inbound operators for a product such as this, and we are delighted to now be able to offer it in a conveniently-packaged day tour, he said. "The tour contains an incredible array of activities and the price we have been able to package it for represents superb value for money.
