Osmosis – A Creative Dance Music Spectacular, Ramsgate Main Sands – 26 to 28 August
'By the process of osmosis, through its roots, a plant nourishes itself with vital nutrients from the earth – we will feed our minds, bodies and souls with the music, nature and the positive vibration that, together, we create.'

Osmosis is a creative dance music space to be held in a beautifully decorated marquee on the golden sands of Ramsgate.  It is a new and free transformative event, musically, visually and atmospherically and will showcase a spectrum of DJs, singers, MCs and other live acts from across the genres of dance music.  Talented local performers will be given a platform alongside those of international recognition, including Serial Killaz, Congo Natty Family and Adamski and Baby Bam.

During the day there will be a series of engaging workshops exploring some of the different aspects and skills involved within the dance music movement, plus dance classes, family art, meditation and live interactive sculpture under the guidance of sculptress Vera Boing.

Thanet Open Studios – 27 to 29 August
The opening of Turner Contemporary five years ago acted as catalyst for growth in Margate's creative community and drew attention to Thanet as a welcoming and inspiring place for artists.  Thanet Open Studios is a great way to experience this first-hand.
Artists and artisans across Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Westgate will open up their studios or homes to the public, some for the first time.  It is a great opportunity to chat to the artists about their artworks, buy directly from them and perhaps have a go yourself.  This year there are over 40 creatives taking part with artworks including textiles, ceramics, painting, printmaking, jewellery and mosaics – to name a few.
