Atura Hotels

In a glittering night-of-nights for the hotel and travel industry at Jupiter's Casino on the Gold Coast, Atura Blacktown was awarded Australia's Best Mid-Range Hotel Accommodation of the Year.

The 2014 Australian Hotel Association (AHA) Awards for Excellence, which took place on Monday night is a prestigious ceremony held annually to celebrate the achievements of the nation's leading hospitality providers. To be eligible for the award, entrants must first earn a place on the finalist list by winning their state title through a submission process that includes mystery shopping by an independent judge. Atura Blacktown earned a place in the national finalist line-up by winning Best Mid-Range Hotel Accommodation of the Year at the 2014 NSW Tourism Accommodation Association (TAA) Awards for Excellence announced in July.

“We're thrilled with this win. Since opening the hotel doors late last year, we've been overwhelmed by the positive response to Atura Blacktown's unique design-led, high value approach,' said Geoffrey York, Director of Operations & Development - Atura Hotels & Resorts. 'Winning this national award against such an impressive line-up of Australian hotel properties makes it even more special.”

Atura Blacktown opened in October 2013, the latest hotel brand offering from renowned hotel and entertainment brand Amalgamated Holdings Pty Limited (AHL) - owner also of multi-award winning QT Hotels and Resorts, Rydges Hotels and Resorts, Art Series Hotels, Event Cinemas and Thredbo Resort. Key collaborators on the Atura Blacktown project included renowned QT Hotels & Resorts interior designer Nic Graham, Melbourne-based stylist Anna Roberts and specialist hospitality architect Peter Israel

"We are delighted with the recognition this award provides to our new Atura Hotel brand and to Western Sydney in general,” said Group Managing Director, AHL David Seargeant. “Being presented with this award amongst such a high caliber of finalists only serves to reaffirm our commitment to develop more Atura Hotel properties around Australia.”

High on value, design and personality, Atura Blacktown's edgy, high-energy, high value, industrial styling and exemplary service standards are bolstered further by the addition of a broad range of complimentary extras - all part of the standard hotel offering. The latest technology, free Wi-Fi, in room movies, coffee pod machines in every room, bathroom amenities by New York's Malin + Goetz and car parking name but a few of the extras guests would usually expect to pay more for.

Expansion is on the cards for this new award-winning hotel chain; Atura Albury is set to open the doors in December 2014 and a new addition to the brand in Melbourne is expected to be announced next month.
