The annual Australian Society of Travel Writers (ASTW) Trivia Night will be held on Monday, October 9 at Novotel Sydney Central hotel, major sponsors of the evening. Now in its 22nd year, the event is highly anticipated on the ASTW calendar.
The evening includes dinner and drinks and will be hosted by award-winning freelance journalist Ben Groundwater and a panel of judges, as close to 100 members vie to win the 'Lamp of Knowledge'.
Spot prizes and team rewards are also on offer. Major prize sponsors include one of Australia's leading destination representation and airline GSA The Walsh Group and United Airlines, both of whom are supplying the major prizes for the first, second and third prizes.
Long-standing ASTW member Laura Speirs said: “We love how trivia has evolved over the years and shows potential new ASTW members what a great organisation the ASTW is to join. We really appreciate the support of our fabulous sponsors and know that the top three winning teams will all go home with a great prize they can use on their next travel experience.”
The ASTW trivia night was originally the brainchild PR member Mike Smith, who tirelessly ran the evenings for 20 years from 1995 and who will also be in attendance on the night.
