The French Culture & Heritage Club is helping you fill your planner this month with a variety of exhibitions, to satisfy any artistic craving you may be feeling!
We’ve come up with a specially selected list of cultural events in Paris and Versailles so you can get your visual kicks during the month of October.
- Camille Claudel Exhibition is being taken out of the archives at the Musée Rodin (01 October 2013 - 30 October 2013):
- ‘Art in Fusion’ exhibition at the Musée de l’Orangerie (From 9 October 2013 to 13 January 2014):
The Musée de l’Orangerie is collaborating with the Dolorès Olmedo Museum in Mexico to create an exhibition dedicated to the iconic couple of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
- ‘Art Déco, le style Made in France’ at the Cité de l’Architecture (16 October 2013 to 17 February 2014):
The exhibition is organised as a series of themed sequences which illustrate what lies behind Art Déco’s international success and its influence on various forms of artistic expression.
- The Rediscovery of Angkor at the Guimet Museum (16 October 2013 - 13 January 2014):
Thanks to objects gathered by Louis Delaporte, the great French explorer, the Guimet Museum invites you to come and rediscover the artefacts from Angkor and Cambodia’s heritage.
- Serge Poliakoff Exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (17 October 2013 - 22 February 2014):
- André le Nôtre In Perspectives Exhibition at the Palace of Versailles (21 October 2013- 24 February 2014):
The palace that has established itself as one of the most beautiful edifices in the world is paying homage to the man who designed its gardens, and set the standards for French-style gardens.
- Surrealism and the Object Exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou (30 October 2013 - 03 March 2014):
On display will be various objects from the surrealist movement, this exhibition’s artists taking over the relay from the generations before them in a seamless transition.
