InterContinental Hong Kong welcomed German Artist Jeannine Platz to the hotel earlier this month as part of her “Suite View” worldwide art project.

Jeannine's amazing artistic talents were showcased in a “Live Art Performance” during which she painted the panoramic harbourview from the extraordinary vantage point of the hotel's Lobby Lounge. Guests relaxed over cocktails as they watched the view come to life on her canvas as the evening unfolded. The painting (measuring 200cm X 100cm), which took her just over four hours to complete, will now be part of the hotel's art collection.

During her stay, Jeannine also painted the spectacular harbour view from her Executive Harbourview Suite at InterContinental Hong Kong. That painting (which is comprised of two canvases, each 200cm x 100 cm) will be featured in her worldwide “Suite View” art project.

In the future Jeannine's “Suite View” and “Lobby Lounge View” artwork will be showcased by InterContinental Hong Kong on various printed hotel materials ranging from menu covers to greeting cards.

THE PROJECT

“Suite View” is a look at the most spectacular skylines in the world through a hotel suite's window. Breathtaking views of the city and its stories are captured on a canvas. This global art project is currently in progress, with Jeannine currently travelling to Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Dubai on her Asian tour, following her recent stay earlier this month at InterContinental Hong Kong. In the end, all the monumental oil paintings will be presented at a large exhibition and in a premium art book.
