Return of Race with the Stars highlight of month-long celebrations           

(Macao, April 14, 2014) – After celebrating its official two-year anniversary April 11, Sands® Cotai Central has lined up a host of star-studded events, entertainment and special retail promotions, inviting locals, visitors and guests alike to participate in and share the birthday joy throughout the entire month. One of the exciting highlights commemorating this year's anniversary is the Race with the Stars 2 competition Friday, April 18 across Sands Cotai Central.

Subsequent to the successful debut of Race with the Stars in 2013, the glamorous and thrilling star-studded event will make its triumphant return to Sands Cotai Central April 18 in celebration of the integrated resort's anniversary. A glittering cast of celebrities from Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China including Eric Tsang, Zhang Han Yu, Cheryl Yang, Remus Choy, Calvin Choy, Edmond So, Eric Suen, Crystal Huang, Niki Chow, Macy Chan, Max Chang, Wang Yien Ni, Hu Gua, Ni Hui, Oscar Qian and Linah Matsuoka, will form separate teams and race to complete five challenging tasks throughout Sands Cotai Central, visiting Urumqi ballroom (Shrekfast with the DreamWorks Gang venue), the Holiday Inn poolside, The Lounge at Conrad Macao, Sheraton Macao Hotel's Bene restaurant, and one of the retail shops at Shoppes Cotai Central, competing for a chance to take home attractive cash rewards and prizes.

Gold Coin Giveaway

Sands Cotai Central handed out limited-edition commemorative golden coins to the lucky visitors boarding its green shuttle buses at various Macao border crossings Saturday, offering them delightful surprises on the anniversary day.

The Wynners Live in Macau 2014

Alan Tam, Kenny Bee, Bennett Pang, Danny Yip and Anthony Chan from the seasoned Hong Kong rock band The Wynners took the Cotai Arena stage for their Macao debut performance The Wynners Live in Macau 2014 April 12. Aside from giving a rousing performance of their classic hits, the legendary rock also used the opportunity to wish Sands Cotai Central happy birthday while on stage. Bee, Pang, Yip and Chan also performed four songs in front of the elated audiences on the final day of The Venetian Carnevale 2014 Sunday at the Venetian outdoor lagoon.

Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2 Live Screenings

The anniversary celebrations also brought to Macao the live screenings of the Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2 multi-bout boxing event at Sands Cotai Central's Loulan Junior Ballroom and The Venetian® Macao's Bellini LoungeApril 13. The spectacular event, which took place in Las Vegas, featured a WBO welterweight title rematch between undefeated two-division world champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley and Fighter of the Decade Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

China Music Awards

In addition, April will see some of China's biggest and brightest music stars descend on the Cotai Arena for the 18th Channel [V]China Music Awards and Asian Influential Power Grand Ceremony Wednesday, April 23. Sponsored by The Venetian Macao, the prestigious China Music Awards is back in Macao for the third consecutive year thanks to the collaboration between Sands China Ltd. and Star China Media Ltd.

Stacey Kent – The Changing Lights

Internationally-acclaimed American jazz singer Stacey Kent will be making her Macao debut with her Brazilian-inspired concert Stacey Kent – The Changing Lights at the Venetian Theatre Saturday, April 26. The singer will share soulful melodies from her newest collection on The Changing Lights album. A limited number of tickets are still available at all Cotai Ticketing box offices*.
