Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority

Following the success of the 2017 pop up, the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority is joining forces again with experiential cocktail bar, Archer Street, to bring a slice of Caribbean beach life to the heart of London's West End. From 28th April through to October, Archer Street will be transformed into a beach bar with a series of special events to be announced throughout the summer.

The pop up will transport guests to the laid-back glamour of Antigua, with its picture-perfect beaches, sublime sunsets and warm welcome. The bar will be reminiscent of a typical Antiguan beach bar, which have become more accessible to visitors following the launch of the Beach Bar Trail last year. This brought the island's many beach bars together on one map for the first time. The pop up will have sandy floors, rustic Caribbean décor, a 360 degree view of Antigua's Shirley Heights viewpoint and Antiguan themed cocktail menus, all mixed with the island's English Harbour Rum.

Archer Street is a vibrant cocktail lounge located in the heart of London's Soho, famous for its inventive cocktails and talented team who entertain guests sporadically throughout the evening with live singing performances.

Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism UK & Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority said: “Our partnership with Archer Street was a huge success last year in terms of exposure for the destination and inspiring new audiences about another side of Antigua. We found that there is a strong affinity between Archer Street guests and the type of visitors who wish to travel to Antigua and we look forward to another productive summer at Archer Street, with some exciting initiatives in the pipeline.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority again this year to bring the very best of the Caribbean islands to Archer Street. The pop up will give guests a truly authentic experience – the traditional Antiguan décor and bespoke cocktail menu – as well as present signature live performances from the Archer Street team of talent” said Archer Street owners, Siobhan Magill and Sian Parry Jones.

Archer Street Cocktail Bar

Archer Street Cocktail Bar is uniquely the only cocktail bar in Soho to change its theme downstairs every 6 months.

With a fantastic location and spacious two floors in the heart of Soho, Archer Street Cocktail Bar has previously played host to the much talked about pop-ups like the polo inspired Chukka bar, the après-ski lounge Piste bar, and previous Summer's Myki Sand bar; always offering guests a fun atmosphere in exciting surroundings.

Set over two floors with overall venue capacity of 330 people; the upstairs lounge features large French windows, distressed wood paneling, sumptuous sofas, plush velvet armchairs and stools and silver topped tables dressed with fresh flowers and candles, creating a sultry atmosphere as evening falls.

Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua (pronounced An-tee'ga) and Barbuda (Bar-byew'da) is located in the heart of the Caribbean Sea. The largest of the Leeward Islands, Antigua & Barbuda comprises 108-square miles. The 365 white and pink sand beaches, one for every day of the year, are just the beginning of the treasures that await visitors.

Antigua's rich history and spectacular topography provide a variety of popular sightseeing opportunities. Nelson's Dockyard, the only remaining example of a Georgian fort commissioned by the British in 1755, is perhaps the most renowned landmark. Betty's Hope, built in 1674, is the site of one of the first full-scale sugar plantations on Antigua, and offers a chance to step back into time by visiting the restored mills.

Another unique attraction is Devil's Bridge, located at the eastern tip of the island in Indian Town National Park, where Atlantic breakers have carved out a natural limestone arch. Antigua boasts a varied tourism calendar including events such as the World Class Antigua Sailing Week, Classic Yacht Regatta, Antigua Sports Fishing and also the annual Carnival; known as the Caribbean's Greatest Summer Festival.

Island accommodation ranges from luxury resorts and all-inclusive hotels to smaller more intimate boutique guesthouses and cottages.
