Nestled in Northern California's Sierra Foothills along Highway 49 in the Gold Country, about halfway between San Francisco and Reno, Nevada County and Sierra County are well known for their gold rush history, array of fall colors, art, culture and outdoor recreation. This four day/three night media fam tour will highlight several key historic sites located in both counties, include great meals, wine and beer from some of the areas wineries and breweries, provide a guided tour of some of the best seasonal color photo opportunities in the region and visit to some of more than 30 artist studios at the Fall Colors Open Studio & Art Tour, and end with a VIP experience at Sierra City's Annual Oktoberfest and Main Street Festival.

Lodging hospitality features a locally owned inn and hotel, with Manager's reception each night and breakfast every morning, as well as innovative meals, including lunch in a vineyard paired with Sierra Vintner wines, dinner in a cooking store's demonstration kitchen with former Chez Panisse chef Alan Tangren, and a sampling of local, onsite brewed beers at a brew pub with hand-thrown pizzas topped with local, organic products. Meeting and mingling with historians, artists, winery owners and locals will be weaved into every aspect of the tour for rich content, and your hosts can provide a wealth of background information and photography. The fam itinerary allows for time to individual interests.
