Award-winning archaeological tour company Andante Travels (www.andantetravels.co.uk, 01722 713800) has launched its full brochure for 2022, which includes over 20 brand new itineraries, zero single supplement places and special offers that will benefit early bookers.
Among the new itineraries are a selection of new UK tours, which were designed not only to meet domestic demand as staycations continue to rise in popularity but to showcase the wealth of history, heritage, culture, and archaeology to be discovered within the United Kingdom. These include two walking tours, namely Walks Along the Thames and Walking Ancient Wessex; three tours that explore Wales, which are Forts & Castles of North Wales, Druids to Saints – Wales & its Gods, and Mabinogion: Magic Medieval Welsh Myths; a six-day Highlights of the Hebrides tour and finally two tours that combine the best of the ancient world with that of the natural one, called Archaeology & Wildlife of the Pembrokeshire Coast and Archaeology & Wildlife of East Anglia.
Looking further afield, there are three new Italian tours, including Rome & Assisi – Centres of Devotion, Imperial Majesty in Ravenna & Venice, and a 15-day Grand Tour of Southern Italy. There is also a new tour that spends 17 days exploring the myriad archaeological treasures of Mongolia, a new Mexican tour that visits the country during its vivid Day of the Dead festival, a chance to follow the pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago and an opportunity to walk the Lycian Way in Turkey.
Additionally, there are two very special 'Golden Age' tours on offer for 2022, which visit Egypt and India respectively. These two itineraries celebrate the glamour of international travel, the pleasure of the journey, the luxury of the hotel and the sense of both awe and privilege gained from standing before ancient treasures. Highlights on the India itinerary include a stay at the fairytale Taj Lake Palace Hotel, time to discover Bikaner's Karna Mati Temple and a memorable visit to one of the country's deepest and most spectacular step-wells at Chand Baori. The Egypt itinerary will see guests visit the county in the centenary year of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, visiting the tomb itself along with Howard Carter's house in Luxor and the new Grand Egyptian Museum. A deluxe four-night Nile cruise is also included.
A new initiative Andante is launching alongside its full 2022 programme is an offer for solo travellers, which was created in response to negative feedback from guests about single supplements across the travel industry as a whole. To help make its tours more inclusive for those travelling solo, Andante has negotiated hundreds of places on a selection of its 2022 tours at zero single supplement. There are zero single supplement places available on every single departure of its flagship Pompeii, Herculaneum & Classical Campania tour along with places on other fascinating tours that visit destinations such as Namibia, the Isle of Man, Serbia and Lebanon. There are a limited number of zero single supplement places available across 17 tours and 45 departures, and guests are advised to book early to secure them.
Early bookers will be rewarded when it comes to tours departing in 2022 as there's a special offer that will see them save up to £500pp if they book ahead of time. In addition to this, those who pay in full at the time of booking will also receive another discount of up to £250pp, with the discount depending on the tour they choose. For guests keen to extend their time away after a year mostly spent at home, a range of Andante Travels' 2022 tours can be booked back-to-back and savings of up to £300 can be enjoyed when tours are booked this way. More information about back-to-back tours can be found in the brochure.
