Premier Travel Trade Show Returns to Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 11, 2013) – U.S. Travel Association's (USTA) International Pow Wow (IPW) trade show will be held in Anaheim, California June 1-5, 2019, for the second time in this international trade show's history.
“We are delighted that Anaheim has been selected to host the 2019 IPW,” stated Jay Burress, president and CEO of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau. “During the next six years, Anaheim will transform and expand its world-class entertainment, dining and hotel offerings even further than it has since IPW was here in 2007. By 2019, our visitor industry will be poised to enthusiastically showcase our original Southern California destination to IPW attendees.”
Since IPW was last held in Anaheim, the area has been enhanced with new dining and entertainment districts, new thrill rides and attractions at Knott's Berry Farm® Theme Park and a $1.4-billion dollar expansion to Disney California Adventure® Park, which includes the popular Cars Land.
During IPW 2019, attendees will have the opportunity to experience a variety of innovative sightseeing tours featuring Anaheim/Orange County's classic and trendy beach communities, world-class shopping districts, innovative California cuisine and unforgettable theme park entertainment. By 2019, Anaheim will be the hub of the ultra-modern Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), an iconic state-of-the-art transportation facility and landmark that will feature innovative retail stores and dining options.
Anaheim is the tourism center of Orange County with the Disneyland® Resort, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Honda Center, City National Grove of Anaheim, Anaheim Convention Center and two professional sports teams: NHL's Anaheim Ducks and MLB's Angels.
In 2012 Orange County, CA attracted 43.8 million visitors who spent nearly $8.7 billion in and around the region, of that total 8% were international visitors. In 2012, in Anaheim alone there were 18.4 million visitors who spent $5.2 billion, this total represents 10% percent international visitors. The top four international markets to this area are Canada, Mexico, Australia and the UK.
