It is a scientifically proven fact that the more adrenaline pumping through your blood, the more likely you are to find the person next to you attractive*. So, for those who like their romance laced with excitement a thrill filled, scare packed, laughter inducing date to 'Dig up the Dead' at the London Dungeon on Saturday February 14 could be just what Cupid ordered.
It's 1840s London and grave robbers prowl the capital's cemeteries digging up bodies to sell to hospitals for research. But when the bodies are in short supply these scoundrels turn to unscrupulous means to provide fresh corpses for hard cash. On entry to the Dungeon, guests will find themselves in an East London grave yard, guarded by a watchperson, bent on interrogating everyone in their path about the recent grave robberies. Once inside the depths of the Dungeon guests will encounter John Bishop, the robbers' leader, who will reveal the secrets of the trade and deal unsuspecting guests, a 'donor' card. Guests will be ordered to scratch their card to reveal their fate – and those with 'full body' cards will be eligible for a live dissection in the Doctor's surgery.
For those with bodies still intact 1000 years of London's murky past lies in store with more murderous villains and despicable rogues on the loose, from Jack the Ripper, to Guy Fawkes and Sweeney Todd – and plenty of edge of the seat surprises. But remember crime does not pay and in the Court Room, Judge Farqhuar, will be preparing to condemn any suspected body snatchers to meet their fate on the exhilarating Drop Dead drop ride.
Is there really a better excuse to hold hands in the dark? Find out more and book ahead NOW at www.thedungeons.com/london. And for those who can't make it on February 14 Dig up the Dead runs until Sunday 22.
