America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA), the nation's second largest low-fare carrier, began operating a third daily nonstop, roundtrip flight today between its Phoenix hub and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). In April, America West was granted authority as the only airline to operate this additional long-haul flight between Phoenix and Washington National by the U.S. Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Vision 100 - Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act.
"The new flight not only gives America West customers a third daily nonstop option, but it is conveniently timed to accommodate business travelers at both destinations," said Dion Flannery, vice president scheduling, route planning and Internet distribution. "In addition, America West offers low business-friendly fares and a route system that provides passengers extensive connecting opportunities through our hubs to 46 markets in the western United States, Mexico and Canada."
The new flights feature an Airbus A319 aircraft with 12 first class and 112 main cabin seats. The flight schedule between Phoenix and Washington National is listed below.

Flight 41 operates on June 2, 2004 and becomes flight 482 beginning June 4.
