Phoenix, Arizona-- America West Airlines (NYSE:AWA) announced today that its Education Foundation has awarded a record $118,300 in college scholarships to dependents of America West employees in pursuit of higher education. The 91 students receiving college scholarships reside in 13 states throughout the America West route system and were chosen for their academic excellence, co-curricular activities, leadership in the community and the recommendation of a principal or counselor.

The America West Airlines Education Foundation seeks to support the quality of life and aspirations of the people in the communities served by America West.
