America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA), the nation's second-largest low-cost airline, announced today that it will add service between its Las Vegas hub and 11 existing destinations, beginning Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004. Flights will be added between Las Vegas and the following cities: Chicago/O'Hare; Denver; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Oakland, Calif.; Orange County, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City; San Jose, Calif.; Seattle/Tacoma; and Vancouver, British Columbia. With these new flights, America West will offer nonstop service from Las Vegas to 54 destinations, more than any other airline, with 133 daily departures.

This new service is the latest in a series of new flights added to Las Vegas this year. So far, America West has initiated convenient, non-stop service between its Las Vegas hub and the following 15 new cities: Austin, Texas; Burbank, Calif.; Calgary, Alberta; Cleveland; Edmonton, Alberta; El Paso, Texas; Fresno, Calif.; Houston; Medford, Ore.; New Orleans; San Antonio, Texas; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; Vancouver, British Columbia; and most recently, the airline announced service to Los Cabos (effective Oct. 31, 2004) and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (effective Nov. 1, 2004). The airline also introduced additional flights this year between Las Vegas and the following existing cities: Boston; Detroit; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Oakland, Calif.; Ontario, Calif.; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Reno, Nev.; Sacramento, Calif.; San Diego; San Francisco; San Jose, Calif.; and Santa Barbara, Calif. Collectively, the 41 flights added thus far in 2004 have resulted in 45 percent growth in the airline's Las Vegas hub year over year.
