The Amarillo Convention and Visitor Council heads into the balance of 2005 with a completely re-organized sales team featuring growing experience in the world of convention and meeting sales and organization.

Crystal Fletcher has been promoted to Director of Sales at the Amarillo CVC. She has been with the CVC for two years, demonstrating a high-energy approach that has helped the CVC open new doors. She joined the CVC as a Convention Sales Manager and has advanced quickly to head this unit of the CVC. Fletcher handles national and agriculture markets. She is a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Texas Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International and Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus.

Jennie Russell joined the team in January 2005 as a Convention Sales Manager. New to Amarillo, Russell was a meeting planner for New Mexico State University�s Extension Water Quality Program. She holds a degree in Agriculture and Extension Education. Russell will be the CVC�s representative covering Austin, TX and will visit the city once or twice a month to renew old ties and make new ones. Her primary market is state associations.

Courtney Forrest is the newest Convention Sales Manager on the Amarillo sales team. She started in March 2005 and is already on her first sales trip for the city. A graduate of West Texas A&M University, she has been involved in sales and marketing for four years. She will handle the SMERF markets for Amarillo, with special attention on the religious and sports areas.

�I am very excited about our new sales staff. This new team is a high-energy group who are ready to move aggressively to market Amarillo as a meeting and convention location to clients and prospects throughout the central and southwest region of the U.S. I think it is a very strong sales team,� Jerry Holt, Vice President of the Amarillo CVC, said.
