Amanresorts Announces The Launch Of 10 New Aman Villas At Amanusa On Bali's Nusa Dua Peninsula

Rich in culture and natural beauty, Bali has drawn travellers ever since word of its legendary beauty began to spread in the early 1900s. Known as the Island of the Gods, Bali's serene soul pervades the verdant highlands, the sacred mountains and the beautiful southern coastline, with Nusa Dua at its centre. It is on this renowned peninsula that Amanusa - one of three Aman resorts on the island - is situated, occupying a gentle rise and overlooking the rolling fairways of the Bali National Golf Resort and the Indian Ocean. An idyllic base from which to discover the timeless appeal of this extraordinary island and to share in the culture that contributes to its magic, Amanusa is now offering 10 exclusive Aman Villas available for rent.

Amanusa enjoys a sensuous tropical setting and consummate privacy in a region renowned for its beaches, dining, nightlife and shopping. The new Aman Villas are situated adjacent to the resort, surrounded by similar lush garden foliage with panoramic views of the golf course and sea. The most accessible of the three Aman resorts on Bali which include Amandari in Ubud and Amankila on the east coast, Amanusa is just a 30-minute drive from the international airport in Denpasar.

Each Aman Villa at Amanusa is located on approximately 4,000 square metres of land and offers four or more bedrooms and a private swimming pool. Whilst the series of buildings that make up each villa are identical, the villas are differentiated by the positioning of the buildings to embrace views, respect natural terrain and ensure privacy.

Arrival to each villa is via a forecourt that contains a double garage and a vestibule that opens to the villa landscape. There is a central two-story structure that provides two guest bedrooms on the lower level, separated by a gallery and a staircase leading to an upper level. Here one finds a lounging and dining area with beautiful open views on either side of the central stairs that lead down to the swimming pool.

At the heart of each Aman Villa is a generously-proportioned swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with sunbeds. Leading onto the pool terrace is a guest bathroom and shower, and beyond in the garden is a large open-air dining pavilion which can accommodate up to 10 diners. Rounding out the central facilities is a library which provides lounging and home theatre opportunities.

Walkways through the landscaped gardens link each villa's central facilities to the other guest bedrooms, as well as the master suite. This is larger than the guest bedrooms and offers a lounging area as well as an expansive terrace. All the bedrooms feature spacious en suite bathrooms and a number also offer outdoor bathtubs and showers. Completing each Aman Villa is the service building which houses the kitchen, laundry and staff accommodation.

Aman Villa owners and guests enjoy privileged access to all of Amanusa's facilities. At the heart of the resort lies a 30-metre swimming pool, overlooked by large daybeds shaded by a bougainvillea-clad trellis. Broad stairways and open walkways lead to the Terrace, the Bar and the Restaurant, as well as the Reception Pavilion, from which the Library, Boutique and Meeting Rooms are accessed. The resort offers 35 thatched-roof suites south of the swimming pool, a number of which feature private plunge pools.

The resorts' two lofty dining venues - the Terrace and the Bar - are situated opposite each other, high above and on either side of the main swimming pool. Both venues offer sweeping views. Between them and behind the pool lies a protected courtyard, shaded by mature frangipani trees. This is the romantic al fresco setting for the resort's more formal evening dining venue - the Restaurant - which is set behind floor-to-ceiling leaded glass windows beneath the Reception Pavilion. The Terrace serves Thai, Indonesian and Continental fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Restaurant specialises in Italian cuisine for dinner.

The resort also offers two tennis courts and a spa suite. Rounding out Amanusa's facilities is the Beach Club, situated on one of Bali's finest white-sand beaches a five-minute drive from the resort. A number of beach bales are available in which one can relax with a book or enjoy a light meal, while snorkelling equipment and kayaks are provided for exploring the pristine coral reef just offshore. The Beach Club is also the setting for sunrise breakfasts and candlelit barbecues.

There are a host of options when it comes to passing the days on Bali's south coast. From the chic towns of Sanur and Seminyak to the beaches of Nusa Dua and Jimbaran Bay, the region offers a fascinating glimpse into how the contemporary and the classic are intertwined on this fabled island. Bustling streets are lined with fashionable boutiques and homeware stores, as well as shops selling colourful textiles, wood carvings and paintings reflecting the artistic traditions of the island. Roadside stalls offer traditional Indonesian fare, while fishing boats, dramatic sunsets and arching palm trees provide endless photo opportunities along the white sand beaches. Day trips to the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan can be arranged, as can scuba diving, surfing and other water sports. Land-based activities are just as plentiful. Whether you wish to play a round of golf, explore local markets, visit ancient temples or head inland to the artistic centre of Ubud, there is something for everyone.
