Alkina Lodge

Over our first 2 years of operation, Alkina Lodge has seen a growing demand for walking holidays, and we have been busy ensuring that we are capable of catering for this strong demand.

Our three luxury lodges are situated just 900m from the iconic Great Ocean Walk track. This 104km track starts at Apollo Bay and finishes at the Twelve Apostles, taking you right along our rugged and spectacular coastline. Alkina Lodge is perfectly located for luxurious nightly accommodation as part of this incredible journey.

Guests can base themselves at Alkina Lodge and walk daily sections of the track – the section nearest us at Moonlight Head is spectacular. Jordan, one of our Alkina managers, will be happy to drop you off and pick up in the Alkina Amarok.  Jordan has vast experience as a guide in the region and will definitely enhance guests' trekking experiences.

For those looking for shorter walks, we also have a range of rainforest and coastal walking tracks close by.  The nearby Otway Ranges in particular offer countless short walking tracks. The one hour Triplet Falls Rainforest Walk is one of the most stunning but is only suitable for those who are moderately fit as there are steep steps in some sections.

Our accommodation is very flexible and is designed to suit couples, families and groups. Each of our three lodges has four bedrooms, so we can accommodation up to 24 people while still offering complete luxury and privacy.

The lodges were designed by Australia's most renowned architect Glenn Murcutt and his partner Wendy Lewin. They are beautifully appointed with designer furniture, a Gaggenau dream kitchen, a high end audio system and a bespoke open fireplace.

If guests would prefer not to self-cater then Cindy, our on-site personal chef, can prepare a special meal to help replenish and refuel after a day's hiking.

We have also recently developed a special Pamper Hamper which includes those extra luxuries such as a bath melt, candles, champagne and chocolate. Perfect for the keen hiker!

“We find our guests truly appreciate our touches of luxury after a day hiking. Nothing beats enjoying a glass of Australian wine around our open fireplace, chatting with your travel companions while your evening meal is being prepared.”
