Documentary film “Alick and Albert”, the inspiring story of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Torres Strait artist Alick Tipoti sharing their passions to protect the world's oceans, will be opening the “Festival des Antipodes” held in Saint-Tropez from 13 to 17 October 2021.

The “Festival des Antipodes” is an event entirely dedicated to Australian and New Zealand cinema and has become an unmissable event every autumn. "Alick and Albert" will open this 23rd edition in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The film traces the relationship and exchanges between HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Australian artist Alick Tipoti on the occasion of the exhibition "Taba Naba: Australia, Oceania, arts of the of the Sea" at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco in 2016 and the meetings that followed on Badu Island, in the Torres Strait, in 2018 and then in Monaco in 2019.

The film explores the intersection of art, science and nature through a constructive and respectful exchange between two men, two worlds, two models of society. It investigates the diversity of the relationship between Man and Nature in the current world and transmits a universal message in favour of peace, tolerance and harmony between mankind and the ocean.

The preview will take place on Wednesday, October 13 at 8:00 pm at the Cinema La Renaissance in Place des Lices.

It will be preceded by the opening of the photo exhibition "Badu Island" which will be held at the Salle Jean Despas during the festival. The exhibition will be shared with a photo series from the film "The Big Kitty" by Tom Alberts and Lisa Barmby, which will close the festival.
