AKA, a luxury brand of serviced residences, has partnered with Technogym to bring the world-leading Wellness Solution Provider’s high-tech training equipment to AKA Sutton Place in New York City. This is the fourth AKA property to outfit the fitness center with Technogym’s state of the art technology, following AKA Virginia Square in Arlington, VA, AKA White House in Washington, DC and AKA Time Square in New York City.
As part of the partnership, AKA is providing residents with Technogym’s Wellness on the GO solution, which embraces the notion that wellness can be achieved anywhere and at any time by utilizing integrated applications to track wellness at home, at the gym and on the go. Residents will have the option to track activity at the AKA Sutton Place fitness center, when they depart and when they return to the AKA property for their next stay.
AKA caters to longer-stay travelers, and is always looking for new and innovative ways to serve its residents. This seamless wellness experience adds to the personalized amenities offered by AKA and focused on longer stays, with the understanding that residents want to maintain a high standard of living when they are away for a month at a time or longer and when they return home.
The new facility joins the property’s other resident-only amenities, including an indoor, heated swimming pool, men's and ladies’ dry saunas, massage/treatment rooms and complimentary business center with beautifully designed work area, as well as AKA’s own a.lounge.
The Technogym enhanced fitness center at AKA Sutton Place features:
- PLURIMA: This multistation offers a variety of exercise options in one stand-alone unit. Residents can perform exercises for their legs, core and arms while utilizing the technology on the unit for their personal benefit. Specifically, a QR code on PLURIMA allows the resident to scan with their mobile device and instantly access a comprehensive library of exercise tips and instructional videos of movements that can be performed on PLURIMA.
- MYWELLNESS CLOUD: This cloud technology is compatible across both strength and cardio machines, facilitating an integrated environment through intuitive user interfaces, personal devices and web/mobile applications. As a result, residents can access their individual wellness data and favorite content from anywhere in the world, including directly on the cardio equipment as well as from their PC or with the mywellness app (iPhone and Android compatible).
- VISIOWEB: This cardiovascular interface on Excite+ cardio equipment offers an innovative and entertaining training experience with iPod compatibility, games, Guide Me instructional videos, and hundreds of TV channels. Additionally, VISIOWEB features Internet connectivity so guests can browse their favorite Websites, send e-mails, check social sites, and more.
