Airtrain On Track With Happy Passengers!

Airtrain

Travellers have warmed to Airtrain, with Brisbane's new airport rail link receiving excellent customer feedback from satisfied passengers, and numerous enquiries from travellers all over Australia and overseas.

Airtrain General Manager, Ken Devencorn, said Airtrain had been carefully financially structured to allow a three-year ramp up period for patronage to reach expected levels.

"Like any well planned new business, we have raised awareness before our launch, and are now continuing to market and promote our service to encourage airport users - not only to try the service, but to return, and recommend us to others," Mr Devencorn said.

"Airtrain is a well considered project, which gained the support of its shareholders after extensive research to ensure the stability and strength of the service. The great majority of airport rail links around the world are successful ventures, and there is no reason why Airtrain will not join their ranks."

Mr Devencorn said enquiries had been received from all over Queensland, interstate and overseas, not only from passengers planning to use Airtrain, but also from hotels and other accommodation houses, travel agents and tour operators, wanting more information.

"We have also been proving popular with workplaces, particularly the government sector, who are purchasing pre-paid voucher books of tickets for their employees to use when travelling, and with large groups of passengers, including business, community and package tour groups."

"Our passengers have been very pleased with the convenience and ease of being able to catch a train directly from airport terminal to city and Gold Coast, not to mention the outstanding service received when arriving at Airtrain's Brisbane Airport stations," he said.

Mr. Devencorn said Airtrain was now a commissionable product with Qantas Holidays, making it possible for travel agents to pre-book their clients' Airtrain travel.

In addition, Airtrain has great news for visitors to the Gold Coast. If staying in a hotel or accommodation house between Broadbeach and The Spit (including Surfer's Paradise), Airtrain can take you right to the door. The AirtrainConnect option allows visitors to buy just one ticket at Airtrain's airport stations which covers both their train travel to Nerang station, and coach transfer to accommodation.

Airtrain's merchandise range, sold by mail order and over the web site, has also been proving highly popular with Brisbane residents, who are justifiably proud of the new landmark service for Brisbane.
