Brought up in Kenya, Toby Warren runs a luxury, boutique tour operator in Oxfordshire with a very personal touch.
Based in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, Toby Warren set up The Exceptional Travel Company in 2009, after seven years as an Africa and Australia specialist with Tim Best Travel. Following a childhood in Kenya, Toby both guided clients and managed lodges and camps in Africa before his permanent move to the UK in 2002.
Having settled with his family in Oxfordshire, Toby, 34, decided to go it alone and set up his own travel firm four years ago, initially specialising in Africa and Australia.
Using his skills and experience of being a client, while incorporating a philosophy and ethos developed over his time in the travel business, Toby's vision for Exceptional Travel was that it should offer a personal - and indeed exceptional - service, with the ability to think outside the box in a determined effort, not only to meet but to exceed guests' expectations.
Having added the Indian Ocean islands, Arabia and Asia to his portfolio, Toby has sourced some of the most knowledgeable experts in the industry to work with him. The senior management team boasts over 30 years' practice with four of the UK's most prestigious tour operators.
'We've taken the best of our experience and combined it with our own personal values and knowledge to expand on and better the industry ideal.' Says Warren
With offices in London and Oxfordshire, Toby and his team are keen, where possible, to meet their guests face to face in order to discuss their travel plans in detail.
'A holiday is a very personal investment and getting to know your guest is imperative in order to find the right holiday for them and tailoring it to their own whims and fancies'.
'We welcome clients from all over the world but those local to us (in Chipping Norton and London), we try to meet in person, either in our office or in their own home. When this isn't possible we encourage a Skype meeting so that guests can meet us virtually. You wouldn't buy a car from someone you didn't trust and it should be the same with holidays.'
