When a group of Sydney and Melbourne PCO’s arrived on the Gold Coast last Friday, they had no idea on how action packed their weekend famil at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort would be.
The group was treated to a site inspection followed by a delicious dinner in the hotel’s premium accommodation suite - The Manor Suite on Friday night before the action started on Saturday morning.
Under perfect skies and ready to tackle the day ahead, the group was whisked away by helicopter for a fly through Surfers Paradise, before heading up to McLaren’s Landing where they enjoyed breakfast and some competitive fun on the segways.
A thrilling speed boat ride back with some heart pumping jet boat twists and turns gave the PCO’s a taste of the on water excitement that is available on the Gold Coast.
In the afternoon they hit The Palms Golf Course for a driving range clinic and putting competition.
It was then down to the beach lagoon pool for some canapes and a little music before the group was transported to Dreamworld who had kindly opened the park exclusively for the group.
The fun started with some Zombie Laser Tag before an encounter with the Tigers and a heart racing ride (or 3) on the Tower of Terror.
Dinner was served in park's newest world - Dreamworld Corroboree where the group learned how to make a fire and discovered more about the legends of dreamtime.
The PCO’s were thrilled to get a private evening experience at the theme park and were all very impressed with what Dreamworld had to offer for off-site activities and events.
Action was still paramount for the final day of the famil with PCO’s being taken out to the V8 Supercar Driving Centre at Norwell where they all donned race suits and helmets for some hot laps with driver Steve O’Brien. With hearts still pumping post hot lap, the group excitedly asked “What’s next?”
Unfortunately it was nearly time to head home but not before a delicious lunch in The Fireplace prepared by Executive Sous Chef Parashuram Pathak and his team.
The weekend was a huge success and the first of this year’s program of PCO famils that InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort will be staging to showcase the resort and it’s Insider Collection of locally inspired activities.
