AccorHotels is pleased to announce it is the official accommodation partner of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.
Between 16 and 25 March 2018, AccorHotels will play a key role in the internationally acclaimed Festival which promises to once again deliver a curated celebration of food and wine. The Festival program includes a bumper line-up of events, with a focus around sustainability and community.
At the heart of the Festival, Hotel Lindrum MGallery by Sofitel will be transformed into the House of Food and Wine Hotel by the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, in celebration of Victoria's food community. Over 10 days, the hotel's kitchen, dining room and bar will be taken over by friends of the festival including leading chefs, world class growers, wine makers and producers with a sustainable vision. Events include the ZeroFoodPrint dinner series, a festival showcase of sustainable eating over five courses with matching wines.
Local and visiting foodies are also invited to grab a seat at the House of Food and Wine Hotel's Back Bar where expert sommeliers and cocktail pros will pop corks and pour concoctions from a drinks list curated especially for the Festival. Festival friends and trailblazers of the local food movement, Matt Stone and Jo Barrett, will design an innovative bar menu, while Victorian wine makers will showcase local wines in the laneway next to the hotel.
Over the Festival period, guests at the House of Food And Wine Hotel at Hotel Lindrum will have exclusive access to culinary treats including bespoke Festival tipples in the mini bar and an exclusive in-room menu, all curated by the Festival. When it's time to explore further afield, the Festival's resident concierge will ensure guests party like industry insiders with their little black book that opens up a world of events, tables in iconic Melbourne restaurants and perks only available to those in the know.
Additional events and activations during the Festival will be happening at AccorHotels across Melbourne including at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins' No35 restaurant and Pullman Melbourne on the Park's new restaurant The Cliveden.
Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer of AccorHotels Pacific, said AccorHotels was delighted to partner with one of Australia's most pre-eminent food and wine festivals.
“AccorHotels is proud to be the official accommodation partner of the 2018 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival and it is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our hotels, restaurants and bars to both local and visiting foodies.
“The Festival's focus on sustainability and community ties in with our commitment to CSR and reducing the impacts associated with our operations, particularly when it comes to minimising food waste. We are delighted to be part of the festival and look forward to a successful 2018 event.”
Over 246,000 attendees are anticipated to attend the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival to enjoy the diverse program of more than 250 events. The Festival builds on Melbourne's international reputation as one of the great dining and major event cities of the world. In 2018 the Festival enters its 26th year as Australia's internationally acclaimed celebration of Food & Wine.
