Patients travelling to Sydney for cancer treatment receive reduced accommodation rates

AccorHotels, Australia's largest hotel group is pleased to announce it has partnered with Cancer Council NSW to provide reduced accommodation rates for cancer patients, carers and immediate family members in NSW who need to travel for treatment.

The new, three-year partnership will offer cancer patients, carers and their families reduced rates of up to 30% at over 60 AccorHotels including Sofitel, Pullman, Quay West, The Sebel, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis hotels across NSW.

Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Pacific said “we are delighted to be announcing a new partnership with Cancer Council NSW and offering discounted accommodation at over 60 NSW hotels for those needing to travel for treatment.

“AccorHotels is a passionate supporter of community organisations and this new initiative will make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.

“Sadly we all know of someone who has been affected by this illness. Our aim is to make an already emotional situation easier by providing the AccorHotels hospitality to those who need it most while helping them focus their energies on getting better.”

Cancer Council NSW CEO, Jim L'Estrange said, “It's fantastic to be able to strengthen our pre-existing support services by adding this exciting new initiative with AccorHotels. This unique service will provide cancer patients with more than just a room when they travel for treatment. We have worked closely with AccorHotels to include Cancer Council's specialist information and support packs in each room, with the aim to further ease the burden and stress cancer patients can face when travel away from home for treatment.”

AccorHotels will also be assisting in providing meals that are suitable for patients when they are staying at a participating hotel while going through treatment.

AccorHotels has the largest footprint of hotels across New South Wales with participating hotels including Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park, Novotel Coffs Harbour, Mercure Sydney Parramatta, ibis Newcastle and ibis Budget Gosford and more.
