Accor, the leading international hotel operator in Asia-Pacific, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a Global Partnership Program with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia's leading airline, the latest step in efforts to increase services and optimize synergies between the two companies. The MoU, which offers mutual benefits to Accor guests and Garuda passengers and strengthens cooperation with the airline's loyalty program, was signed by Accor Vice President, Operations for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore Gerard Guillouet and Garuda Indonesia President Director Emirsyah Satar at Pullman Jakarta in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.
This partnership, which covers countries where Accor operates hotels and Garuda Indonesia has flight routes, benefits both Accor guests and Garuda Indonesia passengers. For example, Accor hotel guests are eligible for a 10 percent discount on Garuda Indonesia flight tickets and Garuda Indonesia passengers can take advantage of a 10 percent discount at Accor hotels. More information on these benefits is available at www.accorhotels.com/garuda.
In addition, the partnership includes special offers for Garuda Frequent Flyer (GFF) members at Accor hotels worldwide, available at www.accorhotels.com/gff. Employees of the Garuda Indonesia Group will also receive special rates at Accor hotels.
The partnership will benefit both inbound travellers to Singapore as well as Singaporeans traveling on Garuda Indonesia to Indonesia and beyond. Accor operates four hotels in Singapore and 49 hotels throughout Indonesia. Garuda Indonesia operates 67 weekly frequencies between Singapore and Indonesia, including eight daily flights to Jakarta and a daily flight to Bali.
The Global Partnership Program builds on a history of collaboration between the hotel group and the airline. In 2010, Accor and Garuda Indonesia formed a loyalty program partnership with special facilities for GFF members.
Gerard Guillouet, Vice President, Operations for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, Accor Asia-Pacific said, "Garuda Indonesia has been a valued partner of Accor for years. Therefore, we are very pleased to expand our strategic collaboration with Garuda Indonesia, not only for our loyalty programs, but also to develop a stronger corporate partnership. A key element of this new collaboration is Accor's commitment to guarantee that accommodation will always be available for Garuda Indonesia crew and passengers within the Accor hotel network."
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar said that the global partnership with Accor, with its worldwide network of hotels, is part of Garuda Indonesia's continuing efforts to improve services to its passengers and to be a global player. "Referring to the business transformation program that has been executed, Garuda continues to seek synergies with international partners to develop its markets," said Mr. Satar. "We thank Accor because the partnership will not only benefit our passengers and hotel guests but will also increase Garuda's market share in the international market."
In addition to the various discounts for Accor guests and Garuda passengers, the partnership enables GFF members to earn and redeem their miles throughout the Accor hotel network. Also, Accor and Garuda Indonesia agree to collaborate in joint promotions on their websites and distribution channels as well as in Garuda's Boarding Pass True Value discount program.
