Accor Asia Pacific and four of its Singapore hotels - Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay, Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen and Ibis Singapore on Novena - in conjunction with the International Year of The Family “Being A Big Hearted Family” will be organizing the Children Are Our Hope For the Future program to raise funds for children from low-income families. The program was launched in 2008 and is now in its seventh year.
As part of the program, the group will be organizing a fund-raising car wash on Friday 16th May 2014 from 10am to 6pm, with the aim of raising $150,000. Roxy Pacific Holdings Limited will contribute $30,000 for the event.
Mr Lim Tau-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower and MP for Marine Parade GRC will grace this occasion and will wash the car of the donor with the highest amount together with the Directors of Roxy Pacific Holdings and General Managers of Accor Singapore Hotels.
Up to 100 children from low income families living around the community will each receive $300 from the money raised in the form of vouchers and cash. Ten teenagers from low-income families of staff working for Accor Hotels in Singapore and students from Nanyang Polytechnic will also win a bursary of $1000 towards their tertiary education.
The Roxy Children Fund will be introduced in six Family Centers within South East CDC to provide basic necessities such as milk powder, diapers and baby food, medical vaccinations, food vouchers and more for children aged from birth to 16 years.

It is great to be a part of the community engagement program to help foster closer ties as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Klaus Gottschalk, General Manager, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.
Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy will also be providing a complimentary two-night stay for low income families on 6thJune 2014 where they will be treated to a visit to River Safari and lunch hosted by one the Accor Hotels in Singapore. The families will also be invited to the Children Are Our Hope For the Future 2014 dinner later that evening at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy with Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong as guest-of-honour.
