MACAU - Thursday, June 20, 2013: Innovative and diverse entertainment destination, City of Dreams, the flagship integrated resort of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited ("Melco Crown Entertainment") (SEHK:6883) (Nasdaq:MPEL), once again demonstrates its transcendent ability to excite this summer by bringing illusion master Franz Harary and his hand-picked team of world-class magicians, in town for his inaugural performance in Macau. "Franz Harary Master of Magic World Tour" will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Grand Hyatt Macau on Friday, August 9 and Saturday August 10, 2013.
City of Dreams' ultimate goal is to provide distinctive entertainment experiences for visitors to Macau, including the world's largest and most spectacular water extravaganza, "The House of Dancing Water", "TABOO" ,the most seductive hit cabaret show in Asia, as well as "Viva Fiesta", a cross-over sports and music spectacular staged early this year. "Franz Harary Master of Magic World Tour" is set to become this summer's "must see" performance.
The 80-minute spectacle features exciting audience interactions and breathtaking illusions. Humorous and unexpected, Franz Harary's show lets the audience experience the mystery of magic up close, and has earned him a place among one of the world's most influential illusionists.
Mr. Sunny Yu, Senior Vice President, Entertainment & Projects of Melco Crown Entertainment, said, "It is always our vision to bring new elements and forms of entertainment to Macau. We are thrilled to host this unique international presentation this summer, turning Macau into the center stage of a global magic phenomenon, with feats never seen before in this part of the world. We are sure guests will find this yet another rewarding experience while visiting our integrated resort."
Franz Harary is a world-class magician performing only illusions designed and engineered by himself. Over the years, Harary has been performing globally and set records selling out stadiums and arenas. His "Mega Magic" includes making the Taj Mahal vanish and transforming a car into an elephant at the Singapore Zoo. In addition to performing his own magic live, Harary is known for creating magical effects for superstars such as Janet and Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Bieber and Ayumi Hamasaki, breaking new ground with innovative live illusions and bringing back magic as a viable element in today's concert productions. Some of his created illusions have also been used by other top magicians such as David Copperfield and Cyril Takayama.
Expressing his excitement on presenting his show at Macau's premier leisure and entertainment destination, Franz Harary, said, "City of Dreams is an iconic property which has redefined the entertainment scene in Macau. I am delighted to perform my inaugural show here and be a part of the exciting culture that is growing around this innovative and diverse city. The place is real magic!"
On Thursday August 1, 2013, audience can watch Harary perform one of his most dangerous acts called "Houdini Performance" for free at The Lagoon of City of Dreams. The stunt has Harary attempting to escape from a steel box suspended 10 stories in the air by a crane.
The event and ticket details were unveiled at a press conference held today at Grand Hyatt Macau.
