Dali's La Verità painting to make first Middle East appearance in August.

An original masterpiece by 20th century Spanish surrealist paint Salvador Dali will make its first public appearance in the Middle East in August when it serves as a dramatic backdrop to the La Verità contemporary circus being staged at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

La Verità, which will run for 14 performances at ADNEC from August 20 - 30, is a tribute to Dali's life and the unique backdrop, which measures 9x15 metres, was painted by him in New York in 1944.

The painting, which Dali created for his ballet Tristan and Isolde, was 'lost' in a theatre in the 1940s and only came to light in 2010 when a European art collector contacted famed theatrical producer Daniele Finzi Pasca – the man behind Cirque du Soleil's 'Corteo' and who has since gone on to produce the closing ceremony for Sochi's winter Olympics. Pasca was offered the painting for a production around the Dali story.

Pasca went on to form Company Finzi Pasca a year later and La Verità came into being. It has now become a multi-award-winning production with a cast of 13 acrobats and dancers from eight nations delivering a spellbinding 90 minute contemporary circus performance. La Verità is the closing act of the blockbuster Abu Dhabi Summer Season show line up and tickets for the spectacular start from AED250 and are exclusively available from www.TIXBOX.com.
