A Tentastic Luxury Escape Fit for Royalty!

DDG Retreat

Boutique bolt-hole DDG Retreat has expanded its adults-only boho-chic accommodation in Andalucia to include two super-tent suites that take glamping to a brand new level of luxury.

Each individually designed -  and complete with stunning interiors, stylish furnishings, marble floors, air conditioning, their own private terraces and either a plunge pool or hot tub  (one even has its own home-cinema) - the latest additions to the DDG Retreat offering, Maharaja and the Royal Tent, are a tiara and crown away from glamping as most people know it.  Owners Alex and Olga believe their concept to be the first of its kind in Europe offering unique accommodation, a stunning setting and the ultimate in terms of privacy for couples.

And now as the Retreat opens its doors for the Summer season, owners Alex and Olga are celebrating their super-tent launch with a special introductory offer of 10% discount (plus a bottle of bubbles and fruit platter on arrival) for guests who book before the end of July to stay during September and October this year.

Since it first opened its doors six years ago, DDG Retreat has been a popular hideaway for couples seeking a tranquil escape from their busy lives back home – but never wanting to sit on their laurels, Alex and Olga felt it was time to add a new dimension to their four-hectare estate, which stands majestically over the beautiful pueblo blanco of Casares with spectacular panoramic views over to North Africa and Gibraltar. So, taking inspiration from their own global travels, and the fact that they themselves enjoy nothing more than sleeping under the stars, they set out to bring to life their own personal idea of the perfect hideaway  - and the ultra-cool Maharaja and Royal Tent were born.

Alex and Olga's plans required a remodelling of their existing hotel, which is situated within an hour's drive of Malaga airport - and now, to provide an even more private environment for their guests, the space that previously housed six detached casas peppered amidst swathes of natural woodland, has been reconfigured over the Winter months, to offer only the two new super-tent suites and the original artisan house Casa Pino, all of which are designed for just two to share.

The Retreat's attention to detail and its superb facilities include the use of an infinity pool, named as one of the most glamourous pools in the world; a mini-gym, sauna and steam room; tennis courts; honesty bar; as well as breakfast (with Cava) and lunch or dinner platters on request. A spa cabanah set amongst the trees is the ultimate treat for guests wanting to be pampered – and there's even a personalised pillow menu and a choice of your own room scents (direct from Asia) on arrival, plus new for 2017, wifi is available throughout the Retreat.

“We have travelled extensively ourselves and monitored the market closely and we firmly believe that what we have created here is a one-of-a-kind luxury experience for those who appreciate their own space and who want time away to enjoy precious together time in an unrivalled private parkland setting with absolutely amazing views. The sunsets are breath-taking and there is nothing more romantic that lying in a hammock or soaking in a hot tub or plunge pool here, with a glass of champagne in hand whilst watching the stars overhead. We believe we have created the perfect idyll,” says owner Alex.

DDG Retreat holds Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence for 2014, 2015 and 2016, was shortlisted for the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2016 and is currently a nominee for the World Boutique Hotel Awards for 2017 after personal recommendations from guests in the categories for best Relaxation Retreat and best Honeymoon Hideaway.
