Miraviva Travel

The recently launched Latin America specialists Miravivaare putting the continent on the map of gastronomical innovation. Inspired by the Copacabana Palace's newly launched private sunrise breakfast at the foot of the Corcovado admiring the wonderful view over the city, Miraviva has put together a selection of experiences for the explorative diner. Isolated beach dining, panoramic city views, and sampling the finest Malbec at a discerning winery, Latin America is brimming with ideas for those with a taste for experience.

Corcovado, Copacabana Palace, Brazil

Breakfast underneath one of the new Seven Wonders of the World might seem like an impossible feat, but as a guest of the Copacabana Palace, a group of up to ten are able to experience a delicious start to the day underneath the magnificence of Christ the Redeemer, before the landmark is open for the general public. With spectacular views over Rio de Janeiro, and a private five star feast prepared by executive chef Pierre-Olivier Petit, breakfast will never feel the same again.

El Ventanal, Ecuador

At the base of the Pichincha volcano and overlooking the historic neighbourhood of San Juan, El Ventanal couldn't be more immersed in the culture and the beauty of Ecuador. The restaurant is perched up high, and the panoramic wall-less dining area offers uncompromising views over the colonial city of Quito. Utterly breath-taking, the views are best enjoyed at night when twinkling city lights merge with the starry skyline. With expertly created local dishes, guests can expect Latin American favourites such as their rainbow ceviche with plantain, and succulent chorizo steak served with chimichurri.

O'Fournier Winery, Argentina

Nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains, the O'Fournier Winery is not only impressive because of its bizarre, futuristic design, but with an especially fruitful micro-climate, the O'Fournier grapes are in the best environment possible ready to be crafted in to some of the continents finest wines. The O'Fournier experience includes a tour around the stunning mountainous landscape, a wine and food pairing masterclass, and an insider's view of the spectacular cellar; 33 feet underground and home to a vast and discerning wine collection. Wine tastings are, of course, a must, and sampling the finest blends of Torrontés guarantees the most delicious liquid lunch.

Huaca Pucllana, Peru

Located in the beautiful Miraflores District of central Lima, the Huaca Puccllana is a large adobe pyramid constructed from clay. Between the years of 200AD and 700AD the pyramid was used as a ceremonial temple for Pre Inca cultures. Amid the fabulously floodlit ruins, guests are able to dine within this unusual Peruvian cultural monument. For a truly South American experience, the alpaca carpaccio, slow roasted lamb served with quinoa, and speciality ceviche with marinated corvina are a must.

Ponta dos Ganchos, Brazil

For amorous travellers, Ponta dos Ganchos in Brazil offer guests privacy and romance on their very own slice of desert island. On a private white sand beach, under the shade of lofty palms, diners are able to fully immerse themselves in island living. No need to catch your own fish though, Chef Luis Salvajoli caters exclusively to each guest with a beautifully bespoke menu made from local produce and vegetables from the organic kitchen garden. That being said, diners are encouraged to try the speciality Santa Catarina oysters with a drizzle of lime juice and a bottle of wine from the resort's discerning cellar, the perfect accompaniment to a secluded paradise.

Awasi Atacama, Chile

Ideally experienced as the sun rises, guests of the Awasi Atacama are able to explore the world's highest geothermic field over breakfast. Not only does the stunning and surreal landscape make for an unusual dining experience, but Awasi Atacama provides a beautiful spread of freshly made breads and jams, local fruits, and eggs dropped into the Tatio Geysers to boil.

Pacuare Lodge, Costa Rica

Dining in a 'nest' high among the treetops of a Costa Rican forest might just be the closest possible way to immerse yourself in the scents, sights and sounds of jungle life. On a candlelit platform perched in the branches of a Ceiba; a tree sacred to the Mayans, guests can enjoy a gastronomical experience that is deeply rooted in the farm to table concept. Amongst jungle blossoms, diners at Pacuare Lodge can enjoy Costa Rican specialities such Casado and Tostones, all made using produce from the lodge's very own organic farm Las Nubes de Tuis.

For travellers looking for a culinary encounter that stretches farther than the contents of one's plate, Miravivahave heralded an innovative exploration into unique gastronomy. Travellers can dine within temples, on secluded beaches and below famous cultural landmarks, and with views ranging from oceans, to mountain ranges and over quaint colonial towns; each Latin American dining experience will be as atmospheric as it is delicious.
