The Cary Arms Hotel in Devon's Babbacombe Bay, part of the de Savary hotel group, has launched painting and photography workshop stays for summer 2015 to help creative guests hone their artistic talents.
Sitting in the sheltered and sunny spot of Babbacombe Bay on the south Devon coast, The Cary Arms is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a stay by the sea. The hotel has eight sea facing, en-suite bedrooms, each with an effortless seaside feel. Most rooms have a spacious balcony or terrace, each with magnificent views of the bay. There are also four luxury cottages, ranging from one bedroom to five bedrooms, all boasting stunning views.
The newly introduced artistic stays allow guests the chance to learn a new skill whilst relaxing in luxury at this calming beachside retreat.
Highly talented local artist, Jenni Pentecost – of the Devon Art Society, will lead painting courses, teaching her students different techniques using water colours, acrylics or water based oils to paint the most beautiful scenery.
Fine art landscape artist, Andrew Gilbert, will lead the photography sessions guiding guests through the process of composing the perfect picture using different lighting, colours and shapes.
Both offers also includes two nights luxury accommodation, a full English breakfast each morning and champagne and strawberries on arrival.
Located in Devon's serene Babbacombe Bay and set on 22 miles of British coastline, budding artists would be hard pressed to find a better spot to hone their skills. The views on a clear day can stretch as far as Portland.
Fliss Crosby, general manager of the Cary Arms, said 'We're really excited to be able to offer our guests the chance to learn both painting and photography skills this summer. The Cary Arms has such a fantastic view, we can't think of a better spot to perfect these skills. We're also thrilled to be working with such great local talent with Jenni Pentecost and Andrew Gilbert leading the courses.'
