A new Australian school leaver portal, Year13.com.au, makes the transition from school years to world years easier.
Young adults making decisions on post school time can explore travel, study, work, apprenticeships and voluntouring options as well as receive discounts on travel bookings, peruse the latest internships on offer and access event and festival information.
Regular blogs are posted addressing modern day concerns for students doing their HSC and regular opportunities are also posted on the Year13 Facebook page.
Founders and brothers Saxon and Jordon Phipps saw a 'gap' in the gap year market when exploring their own post school avenues for their personal Year13. Twenty three year old Saxon finished school and travelled South East Asia while his twenty one year old brother Jordan began a university degree straight after his schooling.
"The first year out from school is a very difficult and confronting time in a young persons life" says Saxon.
"You're consistently being told that the HSC is the most important year of your life and the first year out is even more so."
"It is during that 'Year 13' that you discover that you don't have to everything sorted by nineteen" says Jordan.
"You understand that ambitions and dreams change, and that there really is so many paths, all leading to the same point."
The Year13 portal is a one stop Gap Year shop for anyone considering their options post school and is proudly supported by Open Universities, World Nomads, Student Flights, Vivant and Your Shot.
