Visit East of England

Milsoms Kesgrave Hall has been a firm favourite since its 2008 debut, but its reopening in February (following a fabulous refurbishment) proves it remains a trailblazer on Suffolk's restaurant scene.

The stylish new restaurant space has been lavishly revitalised with intimate Italian lighting, rows of warm wooden tables and sleek banquette seating. The new design has ensured the history and aesthetics of this stunning Georgian hall are retained, while injecting a new exciting look for the years ahead. The restaurant is flooded with light during the day and moodily lit by low hanging glass-pendant lights in the evening. Grab a spot on the upper level for the best view of the action in the open kitchen.

Expect to see a beautifully designed boutique bar; elegantly decked out with brass knuckle embellishments, stainless steel and an antique glass backdrop. Geraldine Milsom is the woman behind the striking interiors. She aimed to create a dramatic feel to the bar space with illuminated bottles and a polished tadelakt finish. As for the art, you'll find a local line-up, including Elizabeth Morris and Jason Gathorne-Hardy. The lounge and private dining space will also echo the new look.
